Doc on SWAN docked in front of Parker Lighthouse restaurant in the Shoreline Marina, Long Beach. We sailed over with some friends for lunch, an easy 1 1/4 hour sail from our berth in Alamitos Bay, Long Beach.

Isn't SWAN beautiful! She's a Pacific Seacraft Flicka, a mighty 20 foot, full keel, ocean going cruiser.

Rosalie with me today. SWAN has a porta-potty, so Rosalie won't take longer voyages with me. So I singlehand most of the time.

SWAN in the shipyard after a new, beautiful two coats of bottom paint. Have to do this every three to four years because the salt water chews up the bottom. Notice the full keel. Isn't she beautiful...

SWAN on a mooring at the Catalina Isthmus (Two Harbors). I love it over here and sail here as often as I get four days off and good weather.

A closer look at SWAN and some of her neighbors at the Isthmus. The makeshift awning shows that it's summer and the sun is hot.

I sleep in the forward section of the boat. lt's cozy!

More of the insides of SWAN. It's a little crowded but great for one person, me.

Some radios on SWAN. There is a marine vhf radio for weather and emergencies. Next is an AM/FM stereo because I want NPR news when I get up and music the rest of the day and while sailing. Last radio is an amatuer radio 2 meter voice radio to talk with other "hams" when I get bored.

Enough said... relaxing.

It's 4 o'clock in the afternoon (1600 hours for us mariners) and it's cocktail time. Wine (Cheap Chuck), herring (boy I love herring in wine sauce) and peanuts. I like the peanuts and so do the seagulls.

After cocktail hour, it's dinner time. Steak from the bbq, potatoes, and, of course, more wine. I do live well when aboard.

Isn't she beautiful..... Getting toward twilight.
